Steak & Pizza : Why didn’t anyone come up with this combination before? What may seem like an obvious partnership took its time to fully come into its own, and now it has at Wood & Coal in Attard. What may seem less obvious is the restaurant’s location – on the main road leading up to Rabat – but this has proven to be a strength (no parking issues!). Wood and Coal specialise in prime cuts from the Scottona (heifer cow) of which meat is known as the sister of Waygu Beef due to its small infiltrations of fat in the muscle mass, known as marbling. During the cooking process, the marbling will melt thus giving the meat a delicious taste and tenderness associated to this beef.” The choice of scottona meats is also hard to beat : fillet, tagliata, T-Bone, ribeye, sirloin and rump steak sit side by side on the menu with cuts of veal, such as T-bone and veal chop. Last but not least, the Jack Daniels BBQ sauce hits the spot, especially during the cooler months. The big part of Wood and Coal’s meats are available in 2 different portions making them suitable for everyone. Besides the regulars on the Menu, Wood and Coal may also surprise you with meat cuts such as Tomahawk offered as their Weekly specials.
